Hrithik Roshan's grandfather, Veteran director J Om Prakash passes away

MUMBAI: Veteran director and actor Hrithik Roshan's grandfather, J Om Prakash, passed away on Wednesday.


93-year-old the veteran director's last rites were performed at a crematorium next to Pawan Hans, Vile Parle.

Prakash made his debut with Rajesh Khanna’s Aap Ki Kasam in 1974 and the film was hugely successful.

Prakash's last film as director was 2001's ‘Afsana Dilwalon Ka’, starring Rahul Roy in the lead.

He had a strong penchant for beginning his film titles with the letter 'A'.

J Om Prakash is known for his directorial hits such as Rajesh Khanna's ‘Aap Ki Kasam’ (1974) and ‘Aakhir Kyon?’ (1985).

He also worked with Jeetendra on’ Apna Bana Lo’ (1982), ‘Apnapan’ (1977), ‘Aasha’ (1980), ‘Arpan’ (1983) and ‘Aadmi Khilona Hai’ (1993).

He even produced box office hit such as like ‘Ayee Milan Ki Bela’ (1964), ‘Aas Ka Panchhi’ (1961), ‘Aaye Din Bahar Ke’ (1966), ‘Aankhon Aankhon Mein’ (1969).
