THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The most awaiting Mohanlal-starrer film Odiyan is getting ready to hit screens on next month.
Mohanlal's banner Aashirvad Cinemas is producing the movie and has been slated for a release on December 14, 2018.
Director Shrikumar Menon has assured that the movie will be released in around 3000-4000 screens across the world.
Apart from the usual centres like the UK, the US and the Middle East, the movie also planning to release in countries like Japan, Australia, Poland and New Zealand. The film is expected to set significant records, right with its release itself.
Promotion works for the movie are on in full swing. The filmmakers are on hard work to create curiosity among public and have been releasing posters and promo videos at regular intervals.
Earlier Mohanlal unveiled the film trailer on his Facebook page and created goosebumps to the Malayalam film audiences. It assures that film will be an excellent mass entertainer with Mohanlal in top form.
The Mohanlal film ‘Odiyan’ is expected to be the second film from the industry to enter 100 crore club, after PuliMurugan's grand success.
It would be for the first time that a Malayalam movie will be releasing in 3000-4000 screens. So far, the record for the biggest ever releases in Malayalam has been held by Roshan Andrews directed film Kayamkulam Kochunni. Superstar Mohanlal also plays a cameo role in this film.
The Telugu rights of the movie were bagged by D Abhiram and Samapath Kumar of Daggubati Creations. Both versions will be releasing on the same day.
Odiyan is basically an action-packed mass entertainer with fantasy elements in it.
In the film, Mohanlal plays Odiyan Manikkan, the last surviving member of a tribal community in Kerala. Odiyan was a tribal community of Palakkad-Malabar region, which has now defunct.
Other prominent actors of the movies are Manju Warrier( female lead), Prakash Raj ( villain), Nandu, Innocent, Siddique, Narein, Manoj Joshi, Kailas, Sana Althaf ( supporting characters).
