JODHPUR: Actress and former Miss World Priyanka Chopra married American singer Nick Jonas on Monday, in a traditional Hindu ceremony in Jodhpur, after three days of wedding celebrations.
Priyanka and Nick had exchanged wedding vows for the Christian wedding officiated by the groom's father on Saturday evening at the glittering Umaid Bhavan Palace.
“One of the most special thing that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so amazing”, Priyanka Chopra had tweeted on December 1.
They went through a traditional ceremony on Sunday evening.
According to the People magazine report, Priyanka wore a red sari and Jonas was dressed in a traditional outfit and turban. For their Christian wedding ceremony, they had worn a custom-made Ralph Lauren outfits.
The couple wore outfits by designer duo Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla for both the ceremonies.
From the groom's side, Nick's parents Denise Jonas and Kevin Jonas Sr, a pastor who officiated at the Christian wedding, and his brothers, Kevin, accompanied by wife Danielle, Joe and his fiancee, Sophie Turner, and Frankie Jonas were present for the function.
From the bride's side, all her close friends and family members, including mother Madhu Chopra, brother Siddharth and cousins Parineeti and Mannara, were present.
Before the Hindu wedding ceremony, Priyanka and Nick had traditional mehendi and sangeet functions.
“An important part of the pre-wedding rituals for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi. Once again we made it our own and it was an afternoon that kicked off the celebrations in the way we both dreamed”, she had tweeted.
The wedding ceremonies were conducted with full secrecy. Media were not allowed for the function. As per the news, even the guests did not bring the mobile phones with cameras.
Earlier, the Couples had shared the photographs for their pre-wedding ceremonies on their respective social media accounts and the duo is not yet shared the pictures of the Christian and the Hindu weddings.
