KOCHI: The shooting for the 'Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham' will start on the Keralapiravi Day which falls on November 1st. The historical movie will be the latest to offer by the successful Priyadarshan-Mohanlal combination. So the expectation on the mega project is sky high.
According to the producer Antony Prumbavoor, the flick will hit the screens next Onam. The project with a cost of over Rs 100 crore will be the most expensive projects ever made in the Malayalam industry.
In addition to actors from Hindi and Telugu, Chineese and Arabean actors will also do various roles in the movie.
It is learnt that Nagarjuna from Telugu and Sunil Shetty from Bollywood will play two major roles in the project.
Director Prjyadarshan is learnt to be planning to rope in the technical crew of his movie Kaalapani for Marakkar.
Kunjali Marakkar was the title given to the naval chiefs of Zamorins- who were once the mighty rulers of northern Kerala. Infact there were four Kunjali Marakkars. Marakkars were credited with the first Naval defence against the European power in Indian cost.
The picture is expected to bring forth the living conditions and lives of people who lived in Kerala in 16th century.
Earlier, Priyadarshan has stated that his film would have more of sea warfare and would be made on par with international films. "That will require a lot of time,” he had stated.
