Shooting of Rajamouli’s next project to begin soon

The shooting of the ‘Baahubali’ franchise director S S Rajamouli’s much-awaited next project is likely to begin in October. The star cast of the ‘RRR’ is expected to be officially revealed by the director next month.

It has already been announced that Jr NTR and Ram Charan will be in the lead roles. However, the director is yet to declare the names of the leading ladies. It’s learnt that talks are on with some of Bollywood stars.  There are also talks that the filmmaker is scouting for a diva from Bollywood for a special number in the mega project.

Earlier, the makers of the film unveiled an announcement video of the names, ending with a visual of the hashtag ‘RRR.’ The trio all have the letter R in their full names, and the hashtag is not the title of the film, just a coming together of the 'titans', a smart promotional strategy.

Rajamouli announced RRR soon after the release of Baahubali: The Conclusion last year. While Baahubali was a historical flick, RRR will be a completely different genre. Earlier this year, the lead stars of the film, Jr NTR and Ram Charan Teja flew down to the US for a test photo shoot. According to the reliable sources, they will be appearing in new avatars in RRR.

To be produced under his banner DVV Entertainments, Rs 300 crore is the estimated production cost of the movie. According to the reports, the film is being planned as a Sankaranthi release in January 2020. So, unlike Baahubali, which needed five years’ shooting, this project is expected to be completed in a year.

At present, Ram Charan and Jr NTR are busy with their respective films with directors Boyapati Srinu and Trivikram Srinivas. (With inputs from Digital Native)
