Sridevi's last film 'Mom' to release in China on Mother's Day

NEW DELHI: Late Bollywood superstar Sridevi's last film ‘Mom’ will hit the silver screen in China in May. 

 

Mom will release in China on May 10 on mother’s day. Earlier, it was scheduled to release in China on March 22.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh, took to Twitter to announce the news and to share the revised date of the film.

“We wanted to pick the perfect date for the release of such a special film like 'Mom' in China. As a tribute to all mothers, we have chosen May 10 to release this riveting film in China," said Vibha Chopra, Head of Zee Studios International.

‘Mom’ released in India on July 7, 2017. In this film, Sridevi played a mother, who sets out to ensure justice for her step-daughter, played by Pakistani actress Sajal Ali, who gets gang-raped in the film.

Mom was released in 40 regions including Poland, Czech, Russia, UAE, UK, USA and Singapore.

The film also starred Akshay Khanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Pakistani actors Adnan Siddiqui and Sajal Aly in pivotal roles.

‘Mom’ received quite the appreciation from critics and fans alike.

The film had won two National award- Best actress award for Sreedevi and best background score award for AR Rahman. Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor received the award on behalf of her mother.

Sridevi had passed away on February 24 last year after accidentally drowning in her hotel room in Dubai.
