It doesn’t matter where you are headed off to this holiday season, your skin will surprise you by being unruly and breakout when you least expect it to. So, come what may, you should be prepared for anything and armour your vanity box with the skincare routine that’s unlike what you do every day. Here’s a look into simple skincare hacks for every traveller.

Sunscreen

Surely, you can’t miss adding this in your travel pouch. Whether you plan to stay indoors during your vacation or outside, you can’t afford to not carry a good SPF cream. Exposing the skin to UV rays without a good skin protector on your face will land you with tan spots and fine lines. You surely don’t want more than what you like?

Body oil

Harsh climate can wreak havoc so make sure if you are vacationing in cold countries, you are carrying a good quality body oil to keep the skin hydrated and moisturised. Dry skin be gone in no time!

Aspirin

If you are vouching for a blemish-free face, keep an aspirin handy. The stress of travelling can make your skin break out. Smash an aspirin and mix it with a few drops of water and apply it on the breakouts. The salicylic acid in aspirin will clear the acne like magic. But, it’s always wise to do a patch test or see a dermatologist if you have sensitive skin. They will be able to give you suitable treatment.

Chamomile tea

After a rough day out travelling, your skin will need something to calm it down and you can do that by using green tea or chamomile tea bags. They have healing properties and are also capable of fighting acne. To use green/chamomile tea to calm irritated skin, put the tea bag in a glass of cool water, immerse a piece of cloth in the water and place it over your skin.

Honey

If you suffer from chronic dry lips, honey can be your best friend. It can be the hydrating lip balm you need to keep your lips soft and supple irrespective of the weather conditions. Keep dabbing a few drops of honey on your lips from time to time and your lips will stay moisturised.

Make-up wipes

These wipes are not exclusive for removing make-up, but can be used to get rid of the oil and grime that settles on your skin throughout the day. Buy a wipe that suits your skin type or one that suits all skin types.

Squeeze masks

Squeeze masks are a quick alternative for masks that need to be mixed and applied with special instruments and then rinsed off. They are easy to apply and remove without getting your hands dirty or wasting too much water. They are quite easily available over-the-counter and also surprisingly inexpensive.

Exfoliator

Because the skin’s reaction to different climates is unpredictable, it can be useful to keep an exfoliator handy if the skin becomes dry. You don’t want to not care for your otherwise supple skin.

We have all been victims of dull and parched skin during vacation and mostly because we did not arm ourselves enough with these hacks. Now that you know what will guard you at all times, do carry them with you. Your skin will stay as good as it was before you got off the plane.
