11 Jawans injured in IED blast in Saraikela

SARAIKELA: As many as eleven security personnel were injured in an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) blast triggered in the wee hours of Tuesday morning in Kuchai area of Saraikela.


As per the report, the incident occurred when the troops of 209 CoBRA battalion of CRPF and Jharkhand police were out for a special joint operation.

According to the report, the attack took place around 4:53 am.

Among the injured 8 personnel are CoBRA and 3 of them are Jharkhand police.

The injured jawans were airlifted for treatment in Ranchi at 6:52 am, news agency ANI reported.

An investigation into the matter is underway.

Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) is a unit within the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) that specialises in jungle combat and guerilla warfare.
