PM Modi in Gujarat tomorrow to seek mother's blessings

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Gujarat on Sunday evening to seek the blessings of his mother after his BJP-led NDA returned to power with a massive majority in the Lok Sabha elections.


After visiting his mother, PM Modi will be proceeding to Varanasi to thank his supporters.

"Will be going to Gujarat tomorrow evening, to seek blessings of my Mother. Day after tomorrow morning, I will be in Kashi to thank the people of this great land for reposing their faith in me," PM Modi tweeted.

Narendra Modi retained the Varanasi constituency in the elections by a margin of 4.79 lakh votes.

The Bharathiya Janata Party had secured 303 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. The party’s tally along with that of its allies (NDA) has been pushed up to 352 in the 17th Lok Sabha.

The Lok Sabha polls commence on April 11 and completed on May 19.

Voting for the 542 Lok Sabha seats were held in seven phases: April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19.
