PM Narendra Modi snubs Opposition for crying foul over EVM malfunction

GUMLI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday snubbed Opposition for crying foul over EVM malfunction in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

“The opposition used to abuse Modi but since yesterday they have started to abuse EVMs. It seems that they have now decided to put the blame of their loss on the EVMs”, he said.

“This complaint is just like a student whose exam does not go well, return home and give excuses that he did not have a good pen or the paper quality was worse”, he added.

“As three phases of the elections are over, the Opposition is left with no option but to accept the defeat”, he claimed.

In the third phase, voting was held in 116 Lok Sabha seats spread across 13 States and two Union Territories on Tuesday.

In the first two phases, the election was held to 91 and 95 seats on April 11 and April 18 respectively.

Voting for the 543 Lok Sabha seats is being held in seven phases: April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19.

Counting of the votes will be done on May 23.
