AMETHI: Rahul Gandhi visited Amethi constituency for the first time after his Lok Sabha election defeat from here.


As per the report, he will assess the reasons behind his defeat in the elections and will take feedback from workers.

Union Minister and BJP candidate Smriti Irani bagged Amethi seat with a margin of 55,120 votes against Congress president Rahul Gandhi in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections.

Amethi is considered as a stronghold of the Congress party since years. Rahul Gandhi had consistently won the Amethi seat since 2004.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi had defeated Smriti Irani by over 1 lakh votes.

Rahul Gandhi, who could not put up a good show in his bastion in Uttar Pradesh’ Amethi, won Wayanad Parliamentary constituency in Kerala by over four lakh votes.
