SHOPIAN: One terrorist was gunned down by security forces during an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district on Friday.
“The encounter broke out in early hours of the day in Shopian's Dragad Sugan area”, police said.
However, the identity of the slain terrorist is yet to be ascertained.
Incriminating material including arms and ammunition was recovered from the site of encounter.
Further details into the matter is awaited.
Earlier, Army sources had said Indian intelligence agencies have received inputs that 16 terror training camps are active inside Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir.

Earlier, General Officer Commanding in Chief (GoC-In-C), Northern Command, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh said 86 terrorists were killed this year in the state and vowed that operations against the ultras will continue.
