105 new Covid-19 cases reported in Karnataka, 45 have travel history from Maharashtra

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Karnataka has reached 1,710, including 1,080 active cases. While 588 patients have been discharged after treatment, 41 have been reported in the state.

105 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Karnataka from 5 pm Thursday till noon Friday (May 22), according to information provided by the State Health Department.

With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the state has reached 1,710, including 1,080 active cases. While 588 patients have been discharged after treatment, 41 deaths have been reported in the state.

Out of the 105 cases, 45 are people who have returned from Maharashtra, according to a report in Bangalore Mirror. Of the total cases, 45 are from Chikkaballapura alone. Four cases have been reported from Bengaluru Rural and 14 from Hassan.

The three patients in Bengaluru rural are those who have returned from Maharashtra. A 55-year-old female from Bengaluru Rural has contracted the virus and has been diagnosed with a history of SARI. She is currently under observation at a designated hospital.

Three patients have tested positive in Bengaluru Urban. A 42-year-old woman who tested positive has been diagnosed with a history of influenza like illness.

Two men, who have test positive from Dharward are returnees from Delhi. Both of them are under observation at a designated hospital in Hubli. A 75-year-old male who has contracted the virus had returned from Jharkhand, the Bangalore Mirror report said.

According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of coronavirus cases in the country is 1,18,447, including 66,330 active cases. While 48,533 patients have been cured and discharged, 3,583 deaths have been reported so far, said a Hindustan Times report.
