15 injured in fire at Bengaluru KPTCL plant

According to the DCP, the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning and 15 officials are currently receiving treatment in a nearby hospital.

Fifteen persons were injured, two of them critically, after a fire broke out at the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation  (KPCTL) plant at Yelahanka in Bengaluru on the wee hours of Friday, October.

A gas leak is believed to be the reason behind the fire. The fire was extinguished with the help of fire tenders rushed to the spot on receiving information about the fire. The injured officials are receiving treatment at a nearby private hospitals.

CK Baba, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru Northeast said that the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday morning and added that the injury suffered by 15 officials was minor. He refuted reports that a blast occurred at the plant. Reports had earlier suggested that the gas leak had led to a blast on Friday morning, prompting a response from fire department officials.
