162 more test positive, COVID-19 tally jumps to 1297 in Maharashtra

The number of COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra climbed to 1297 on Thursday as 162 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the state.

 

As India continues to reel under the threat of COVID-19 pandemic, the total number of coronavirus patients in the country has surged to 5734. Meanwhile, the number of deaths in the country due to COVID-19 has risen to 166.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 5095. Meanwhile, 472 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.

Coronavirus, which originated in China's Wuhan city in December last year, has so far spread to more than 200 countries. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared coronavirus a pandemic.
