4 killed, 15 migrant workers injured in bus-truck collision in Maharashtra

Four migrant workers were killed and 15 others were injured after a bus they were travelling in crashed into a truck in Yavatmal on Tuesday morning.

 

As per the report, the bus was travelling from Solapur to Jharkhand. Four people were killed on the spot. The injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital. 

The cause of the accident is not known. Further investigation is underway in this case.

The plight of migrant workers has continued in the country since the lockdown began in the wake of the COVID-19. 

Many had tried to reach home on foot before the central government allowed them to travel, and many were killed in the accident.

On May 16, at least 24 labourers were killed and more than 30 were injured after the truck they were travelling in collided with another in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh

On May 8, at least 15 migrant workers in a group of 20 were killed after a goods train ran over them while sleeping on the tracks in Maharashtra's Aurangabad.
