50-year-old Coronavirus patient commits suicide in Karnataka

A 50-year old coronavirus patient allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the fifth floor of a hospital building in Bengaluru on Monday, police said.


According to the official report, the patient jumped from the trauma ward of the Victoria Hospital.

According to hospital sources, the man, who was admitted with acute respiratory problem on Friday, was also suffering from kidney problems. This morning, he jumped off the fifth floor of the building.

Investigations are on. Further details are awaited.

According to data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, two new coronavirus cases were reported as of 8:00 AM on April 27 in Karnataka.

This brings the total reported cases of coronavirus in Karnataka to 503. Among the total people infected as on date, 182 have recovered and 19 have passed away.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday, the total number of coronavirus patients in the country has surged to 7,892.

Meanwhile, with an increase of 48 deaths in the last 24 hours, the number of deaths in the country due to COVID-19 has risen to 872.

The total number of active cases in the country is 20,835. Meanwhile, 6,185 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
