70 new COVID-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh, tally rises to 2,944

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh rose to 2,944 after 70 new cases were reported on May 30, out of which 2,092 have so far recovered and have been discharged, while 60 have died

Andhra Pradesh reported 70 new cases of coronavirus on Saturday, taking the state's tally to 2,944.

No death has been reported in the last 24 hours and the death toll remained at 60. Of the cases reported on Saturday, three from Chittoor are related to the Koyembedu market in Tamil Nadu.

According to the state's health bulletin, 55 people were discharged from COVID-19 designated hospitals. The number of patients recovered and discharged stood at 2,092. The active cases in the state are 792.

In the last 24 hours, 9,504 samples were tested, out of which 70 tested positive for the virus. In all, 111 active cases of foreign returnees are present in the state, while 406 are cases from other states.

With the latest updates, Kurnool, Guntur and Krishna districts continued to be the major hotbeds in the state.
