Dubai aviation regulator suspended Air India Express flights till October 2 after the Indian carrier brought passengers with COVID-positive certificates

Air India Express on Friday said that all Air India Express will operate flight services to Dubai as per original schedule starting September 19.

In a tweet, Air India Express said that flights from/to Dubai will operate as per original schedule w.e.f tomorrow, September 19.

On Wednesday, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority suspended Air India Express flights till October 2 after the Indian carrier brought passengers with COVID-positive certificates twice during the last couple of weeks.

"A passenger, who had a COVID-positive certificate dated September 2, travelled on Air India Express' Jaipur-Dubai flight on September 4. A similar incident had happened with a passenger on one of the airline's other Dubai flights previously," reported PTI citing the government officials.

Following the violation of the rules, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) suspended Air India Express flights from September 18 to October 2.

The India’s low-cost carrier also confirmed that it had received a "notice of suspension" from the DCAA on September 17 to suspend its Dubai flights from September 18 to October 2.

As per the UAE government guidelines, passengers travelling to Dubai from India must carry a coronavirus negative certificate. It is also mandatory for the passengers to undergo an RT-PCR test four days prior to the journey.
