Andhra Pradesh cops destroys 2,000 litres of country liquor, 10,000 litres of jaggery wash

The police seized and destroyed 2,000 litres of country liquor and 10,000 litres of jaggery wash in Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district, on Tuesdsy.

This came after Machilipatnam police and Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) held a cordon search in Pedda Kara Agraharam village in Machilipatnam Mandal on Tuesday morning.

District Superintendent of Police (SP) M Ravindranath Babu and SEB ASP Vakul Jindal told the villages that manufacturing and selling of country liquor is an offence.

Meanwhile, three railway workers were arrested here on Tuesday for illegally transporting liquor from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh.

Liquor was allegedly being transported in a railway scrap lorry from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. Krishna police stopped the lorry at Donakonda in Kanchikacherla Mandal and nabbed the accused.

As per the report, three railway workers—Dastagiri, Basha and Johnny-- have hidden liquor bottles under railway scrap. They are arrested along with lorry driver Vijay Kumar. The liquor and lorry have been seized. As many as 63 liquor bottles were found beneath the scrap.
