Andhra Pradesh reports 136 new coronavirus cases

Andhra Pradesh reported one death due to coronavirus infection and 136 new cases, on Wednesday (10 June). With this the total tally of positive cases has risen to 4,126 and casualties to 78. The death was reported from East Godavari district.

A total of 15,384 samples were tested in the last 24 hours till 9 am Wednesday, and out of that 136 tested positive for the virus, according to the state health department's update on Wednesday morning. A total of 498,716 samples have been tested in the state so far.

The state is conducting on an average 9,000-10,000 tests a day. The state’s mortality rate had slipped to 1.56 per cent from 1.64 per cent on Sunday. In terms of mortality rate, the state ranks 10th, according to the government data on Saturday. The national mortality rate is at 2.78 per cent.

During the day, 72 people were discharged from hospitals, taking the cumulative tally of cured persons to 2,475.

The state's recovery rate dropped to 56.33 per cent on Monday and it ranks sixth in the country. The national recovery rate stood at 48.36 per cent on Monday (with inputs from agencies)
