After Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa ruled out fresh lockdown in Bengaluru, the city police have doubled vigil against violation of Covid-19 norms.

Bengaluru police commissioner Bhaskara Rao on Saturday warned stern legal action against those flouting the norms. He said that all establishments, including shops and malls are aware of precautions to be taken against the infection.

“If they do not wear masks and ensure social distancing they will be raided and cases registered against them,” the commissioner was quoted by news agency ANI as saying.

The chief minister had ruled out fresh lockdown in the city in the light of the continuous spike in cases, saying that the government had sealed affected areas. He had appealed to the people to take required precautions as keeping economic activity shut for long period would not be in interest of the state.
