COVID-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh reaches 3,971; death toll at 68

Andhra Pradesh records the highest single day spike of COVID-19 with 180 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s coronavirus count to 3,971, on Wednesday.


The number of active cases in the state has reached 1,447, while the death toll increased by four to 68 in the last 24 hours.

According to the bulletin,of the fresh cases, 79 were state residents, seven foreign returnees and 94 from other states.

In Chittoor, two fresh coronavirus deaths were reported while Krishna and Kurnool registered one each.

Meanwhile, with 8,909 new cases in the last 24 hours, India's COVID-19 tally reached 2,07,615 . With an increase of 217 deaths in the last 24 hours, the number of deaths in the country due to COVID-19 has risen 5,815.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 1,01,497. Meanwhile 1,00,303 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
