COVID-19 tally in Telangana inches closer to two lakh mark

Telangana reported 1,949  new cases along with ten new fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s total caseload to nearly two lakh.

The toll rose to 1,163 with 10 more fatalities, a state government bulletin said on Sunday, providing data as of 8 PM on October 3.

The active cases stood at 27,901 and the cumulative recovered cases rose to 1,70,212. 

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 291, followed by Rangareddy (156) and Medchal Malkajgiri (150) districts.

Cumulatively, 32,05,249 samples have been tested in the state so far. The samples tested per million population was 86,116.

The case fatality rate in the state was 0.58 per cent, while it was 1.6 per cent at the national level. The recovery rate in Telangana was 85.41 per cent, while it was 84.1 per cent in the country.

As per the report, the number of individuals in home or institutional isolation was 22,816.

Meanwhile, with an increase of 75,829 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the coronavirus count in India has crossed 65-lakhs mark.

In the past 24 hours, India has 75,829 coronavirus cases, taking its total count to 65,49,374.

Meanwhile, 940 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,01,782.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is  9,37,625. Meanwhile 65,49,374 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
