The rains led to waterlogging in parts of the state capital, including the Falaknuma bridge.

Heavy rains lashed several parts of Hyderabad on Saturday night, just days after heavy rainfall caused severe damage in Telangana's capital city.

According to the report, the downpour was witnessed in Nampally, Abids, Kothi, Basheerbagh, Khairatabad, Goshamahal and Vijayanagar colonies. The rains led to waterlogging in parts of the state capital, including the Falaknuma bridge.

According to the Zee news reports, water has been flowing at Babanagar B-Block on Sunday morning  after the collapse of a portion of Balapur lake bund.

The water coming out from the lake has submerged several residential areas, including Hafiz Baba Nagar, Omer Colony Nabeel Colony and other adjoining areas.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar tweeted that evacuation is being carried out in low-lying areas.

Rescue operations were carried out to provide relief to the people.

Earlier, Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao had directed officials to distribute the Chief Minister relief kits at the doorsteps of the residents in the rain affected areas across the city.

On Saturday, Rao reviewed the progress of relief measures, including dewatering and restoration activities being taken up by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in inundated areas of the city.
