Hyderabad dentist rescued from Andhra Pradesh within 24 hours after abduction

The Andhra Pradesh Police rescued a dentist from Ananthapur district within 24 hours after he was abducted from his clinic in Hyderabad.

The Andhra Police said that the dentist identified as Dr Hussain will be handed over to Telangana Police soon.

He was rescued on Wednesday early morning and reportedly sustained minor injuries suspected to have inflicted by the abductors, said a report in The New Indian Express.

The Andhra Police managed to intercept the vehicle in which the dentist was taken based on a tip-off by the Telangana Police. The accused were taking Dr Hussain to Bengaluru and the police arrested the abductors besides taking the vehicle into custody.

Police said that the abductors had demanded Rs 10-crore ransom from the dentist’s family in the form of Bitcoins for his release.

The police said that the accused entered the Dr Hussian’s clinic situated in Kismatpur in Hyderabad posing as patients. They later put him in his own vehicle parked outside the clinic and fled the spot around 1 pm on Wednesday.

Four more accused joined the gang on the way and the vehicle proceeded towards the Bengaluru Highway, said the police. Rajendranagar police received information about the incident and they swiftly informed the matter their Andhra counterparts after tracked the vehicle.

The abductors were stopped in Ananthapuram and rescued the dentist. The dentist reportedly said that men clad in burqa abducted him from his clinic.
