India’s COVID-19 tally reaches to 5,48,318; Death toll 16,475

With 19,459 new cases in the last 24 hours, India's COVID-19 tally reached 5,48,318 on Monday.

 

Meanwhile, with an increase of 380 deaths in the last 24 hours, the number of deaths in the country due to COVID-19 has risen 16,475.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 2,10,120. Meanwhile 3,21,723 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.

As India is attempting to flatten the curve of the novel coronavirus, some states are continuing to see a steady rise in cases.

Among the Indian states, Maharashtra remains to be the worst affected state by the deadly virus. It is followed by, Delhi, and Tamil Nadu.

Maharashtra’s COVID-19 count touched 1,64,626 and cases in Delhi have reached 83,077.

Coronavirus, which originated in China's Wuhan city in December last year, has so far spread to more than 200 countries. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared coronavirus a pandemic.
