India’s COVID-19 tally reaches to 6,04,641; Death toll 17,834

With 19,148 new cases in the last 24 hours, India's COVID-19 tally reached 6,04,641 on Thurssday.

 

Meanwhile, with an increase of 434 deaths in the last 24 hours, the number of deaths in the country due to COVID-19 has risen 17,834.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 2,26,947.Meanwhile 3,59,860 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.

As India is attempting to flatten the curve of the novel coronavirus, some states are continuing to see a steady rise in cases.

According to the ministry, Maharashtra is the worst-affected state by the virus with 1,80,298  cases including 8,053 fatalities.

Tamil Nadu is the second worst-hit state with 94,049 cases including 1,264 deaths. Meanwhile, Delhi has a total of 89,802 cases and 2,803 deaths.

Coronavirus, which originated in China's Wuhan city in December last year, has so far spread to more than 200 countries. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared coronavirus a pandemic.
