India reports 16,311 new COVID-19 cases, 19,299 recoveries in last 24 hours

At present, there are 64,516 active coronavirus cases in Kerala, the highest in the country. Maharashtra follows with 54,129 active infections.

 

With 16,311 new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, COVID-19 case tally reached  1,04,66,595, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday.

Meanwhile,161 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,51,160.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country  2,22,526. Meanwhile 1,00,92,909 have been cured/discharged/migrated.

Kerala continued to be the worst affected state with  64,516 active cases, followed by Maharashtra with 54,129.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 18,17,55,831 samples were tested for COVID-19 up to January 10 including 6,59,209 samples tested yesterday.
