India's COVID-19 tally crosses 80-lakh mark; Death toll at 1,20,527

With an increase of 49,881 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the coronavirus count in India has crossed 80- lakhs mark.  

 

In the past 24 hours, India has 49,881 coronavirus cases, taking its total count 80,40,203.

Meanwhile, 517  patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,20,527. 

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 6,03,687. Meanwhile 73,15,989 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.

Meanwhile, a total of 10,65,63,440 samples have been tested for COVID-19 up to October 28. Of these 10,75,760 samples were tested yesterday, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)

Coronavirus, which originated in China's Wuhan city in December last year, has so far spread to more than 200 countries. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared coronavirus a pandemic.

India became the second worst-affected country by the coronavirus pandemic in the world. The United States is the worst-affected country across the globe.
