India's COVID-19 tally crosses 81-lakh mark; Death toll at 1,21,641

As many as 74,32,829 people have been cured and discharged from hospitals with 59,454 new discharges in the last 24 hrs. 

 

With an increase of 48,268 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the coronavirus count in India has crossed 81- lakhs mark.  

In the past 24 hours, India has 48,268 coronavirus cases, taking its total count 81,37,119.

Meanwhile, 551 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,21,641 . 

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 5,82,649. Meanwhile 74,32,829 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit state by the virus with 1,25,971 active COVID-19 cases, 15,03,050 recoveries and 43,837 deaths.

Kerala has reported 90,671 active cases, 3,32,994 recoveries and 1,457 deaths.

Coronavirus, which originated in China's Wuhan city in December last year, has so far spread to more than 200 countries. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared coronavirus a pandemic.

India became the second worst-affected country by the coronavirus pandemic in the world. The United States is the worst-affected country across the globe.
