The two tied the knot at a function organized as per the Covid-19 protocol at Cliff House, the official residence of the chief minister at Thiruvananthapuram.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter Veena and his party’s youth wing national president PA Mohammed Riyas got married at a simple function in the state capital of Thiruvananthapuram on Monday, June 15.

The two tied the knot at Cliff House, the official residence of the chief minister. Besides family members and a few close party leaders, including Industries Minister EP Jayarajan, CPM state committee member Koliyakkode Krishnan Nair and DYFI leader Sajeesh were among those attended the function, which was organized as per the Covid-19 protocol.

However, the host and most of the guests did not wear masks. Muhammad Riyas, the son of retired IPS officer P M Abdul Khadar and Ayishabi had started his political career with the Students Federation of India (SFI) and climbed up the rungs through Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI).

He had unsuccessfully contested the last Lok Sabha election against UDF's M K Raghavan from Kozhikode in 2009. Pinarayi's daughter Veena is the managing director of the IT firm Exalogic Solutions since 2014.

This is the second marriage for the couple. The newly-wed will move to their residence at Kazhakuttam in the evening, according to a report in the New Indian Express.
