Maharashtra COVID-19 tally jumps to 891; 23 more test positive

The number of COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra climbed to 891 on Tuesday as 23 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the state.

 

Out of 23 new cases, 10 have been reported from Mumbai, four from Pune, three from Ahmednagar, two each from Buldhana and Nagpur, and one each from Thane and Sangli.

So far, 52 COVID-19 patients have died in the state.

As India continues to reel under the threat of COVID-19 pandemic, the total number of coronavirus patients in the country has surged to 4421. Meanwhile, the number of deaths in the country due to COVID-19 has risen to 114.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 3981. Meanwhile, 325 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.

Coronavirus, which originated in China's Wuhan city in December last year, has so far spread to more than 200 countries. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared coronavirus a pandemic.
