Malayalam director VA Shrikumar enters into Bollywood with Mission Konkan, shooting likely from December

After Odiyan, noted Malayalam film director VA Shrikumar has announced his next project Mission Konkan and its shooting is expected to commence from December this year.

This movie will be made in Hindi and all south Indian languages in the backdrop of Konkan Railway and is narrating the valiant acts of the Mappila Khalasis, said Shrikumar in a Facebook post.

The story tells how Khalasis, who are the traditional makers of Uru or huge freight vessels of Malabar in north Kerala, thwarted the bids of enemy countries to destroy India's unity and technological advancement.

Shrikumar said that Khalasis are human wonders and their fame spread from Malabar to world over.

This is the second project of Shrikumar after Odiyan in 2018. Screenplay is by famous novelist TD Ramakrishnan and Earth and Air Films is producing Mission Konkan.

Shrikumar said that it would be a big budget movie starring all prominent actors from Bollywood, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu and they would be announced later.

The movie would be shot in Delhi, Goa, Ratnagiri, Beypur, Kozhikode and Palakkad locations. Action scenes would be shot under the supervision of Hollywood technicians, he said.
