Mandya Lok Sabha MP Sumalatha Ambareesh tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday. 
 

 

Confirming the same, she tweeted:

 “It is positive with very mild symptoms and I have been advised home treatment.”

As per the report, she had developed mild symptoms of headache and throat irritation on July 4, after which she decided to get tested.

Kunigal legislator HD Ranganath also tested positive for coronavirus on Monday.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Gundu Rao, former president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), is currently under home quarantine after a policeman deployed for his security tested positive.

Dinesh Gundu Rao’s wife Tabu Gundu Rao tweeted the same.

“Well sadly our PA, one more Gunman and 2 house staff tested positive. We are all thankfully negative but in isolation and quarantine for 10 to 14 days from today, to check if we develop symptoms as we are primary contacts to them. Hopefully we should get through this,” Tabu tweeted.

Earlier, the Karnataka government had decided to close the Vidhana Soudha on Monday to sanitise buildings amid of COVID-19 pandemic. 

The decision was taken after a policeman deployed on the first floor of Vidhana Soudha tested positive for coronavirus on Sunday.

Earlier, Covid-19 cases were also reported among staff at Vikasa Soudha building next to Vidhana Soudha. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are 23,474 coronavirus cases in Karnataka including 13,255 and 372 deaths.
