Mortal remains of Indian businessman Joy Arakkal reach Kerala, Funeral today

The mortal remains of an Indian businessman, who committed suicide in Dubai last week was brought to Kerala in a special charted air ambulance at Kozhikode airport on Thursday night. 

 

The Dubai police had confirmed that 54-year-old Indian businessman, Joy Arakkal from Wayanad in Kerala had committed suicide by jumping from the 14th floor of a building in Business Bay on April 23.

He is survived by his wife Celine Joy and children Arun Joy and Ashley Joy. 

According to the report, the air ambulance reached the Karipur airport around 8 pm and the remains were taken to Varayal near Mananthavady in Wayanad district for performing the last rites. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Home Ministry have granted special permission for the charted air ambulance.

The funeral will be held at Kaniyapuram St Joseph cathedral near Mananthavady on Friday morning.

Owner and founder of several business ventures based in the UAE, Joy Arakkal had been a successful business magnate from Kerala.

He was awarded the 10-year Gold Card visa by the United Arab Emirates in 2019. 

Joy Arakkal has been in the limelight in connection with the house-warming ceremony of his 45,000 square feet palatial house, named Arakkal Palace, at Manathavady in Wayanad. This is said to be the biggest house in Kerala.
