A pedestrian was killed and another sustained serious injuries when an overspeeding luxury sports car knocked them down in Hyderabad on Sunday afternoon.

Police said that the Ferrari car jumped onto the footpath after the driver lost control on the wheels and mowed down over the people walking on the footpath.

Police said that the car bearing registration number TS 08FP is registered in the name of MEGHA ENGG & INFRA and has valid documents, said a report in The New Indian Express.

The Madhapur police registered an offence of negligent driving against driver Naveen Kumar Goud and seized the vehicle.

Police said that the accident happened when the luxury sports car while moving along the 100 feet road at Madhapur, Goud lost control of the vehicle and jumped on the footpath.

It knocked down two pedestrians walking on the footpath killing one person and seriousing injuring another.
