PM Narendra Modi holds COVID-19 review meeting with CMs

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a video conference meeting with chief ministers of various states to discuss the situation arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Tamil Nadu CM EK Palaniswami, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Punjab CM Amarinder Singh, Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar were present in the meeting. 

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also attended the meeting.

Prime Minister Modi has held several meetings with CMs over the COVID-19 situation after the announcement of the first lockdown in March this year.

With the spike of 53,601 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, India's coronavirus tally reached 22,68,676 on Tuesday. 

Meanwhile, 871  patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease in the last 24 hours, taking the fatalities count to 45,257.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 6,39,929. Meanwhile, 15,83,490 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
