Renowned Tamil actor Balasingh passes away

CHENNAI: Noted Tamil actor and theatre artist Balasingh passed away on Wednesday in Chennai following a brief illness.

According to the report, 67-year-old renowned actor Balasingh was admitted in a critical condition in the ICU of a private hospital in Chennai and breathed his last this morning.
The actor’s remains have been kept at his residence in Virugambakkam in Chennai to pay last respects. According to the sources, he will be cremated in his hometown of Nagercoil.
Balasingh- a pass out of the National School of Drama (NSD), Delhi, began his career as a theatre actor and later entered the world of films.
He made his debut in M Nasser-directed 'Avatharam' and went on to feature in many films, performed different roles including those with negative shades.
His notable performances include Kamal Haasan's directorial venture 'Virumandi' and actor Dhanush's 'Puthupetta', a gangster flick.
The actor primarily did films in Tamil but also featured in many Malayalam films. Some of his Malayalam films are ‘Malamukalile Daivam’, ‘Kerala House Udan Vilpanakku’, and ‘Mulla’.
He was equally popular in television and made his small screen debut with the serial Soolam in 2002. Bala was last seen in the serial Aathira as Rajarajan in the year 2016.
