Road mishap claims 3 lives in Kerala’s Thrissur district

Two motorbike riders and a car passenger were killed in the accident.


At least three people were killed and three injured as a truck hit several vehicles on a highway in Thrissur district on Thursday, police said.

The accident took place at Kuthiran between Palakkad and Thrissur highway on Thursday at around 6.50 AM.

According to the reports, the truck driver allegedly lost control and rammed into other vehicles including cars, lorries and motor bikes.

The truck was travelling from Tamil Nadu to Kochi and was carrying goods.

Two motorbike riders and a car passenger were killed in the accident. 

As per reports, two others are in a critical condition.

Following the mishap, the traffic disrupted on the national highway today. Vehicles waited in a long queue on both sides of the road as the police were trying to clear the road.

An investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the mishap.

As per preliminary reports,truck's brake got damaged while coming down a hill and it hit two cars that were coming up in the opposite direction.
