Siddaramaiah deprived of office, car as LoP Karnataka: Sources

BENGALURU: According to the report, Karnataka's Leader of Opposition Siddaramaiah has not received the facilities that need to be given to him including a car, office and office staff.

As per protocol, the opposition legislative party leader must be given these facilities.
Sources added that Siddaramaiah wrote a letter to Kageri one month ago requesting him for the allotment of these facilities. However, he has not received any reply yet. He is currently using his own car
Sidharamaiah is the legislative party leader of Congress and the Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly.
On October 9, the Congress had appointed former chief minister Siddaramaiah as Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly. Meanwhile, SR Patil was chosen as the Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council.
Following his appointment, Siddaramaiah had thanked the Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
“I am grateful to Honourable INC India President Sonia Gandhiji for appointing me as Leader of Opposition of Karnataka Assembly and Leader of CLP. I am honoured by her faith in me. All INC Karnataka leaders will work to strengthen the party in and expose the failures of BJP Karnataka govt”, he had tweeted.
The post of Leader of Opposition was vacant for over two months with the party consulting with several leaders on their preference for the post.
