Telangana records 1,451 new COVID-19 cases, 9 deaths in last 24 hours

Telangana registered 1,451 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the tally to 2.20 lakh while 9 more deaths pushed the toll to 1,265. 


A total of 1,451 new COVID-19 cases and 9 deaths were reported in Telangana on Thursday. 

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for 235 of the 1,451 fresh cases, followed by Rangareddy 104, Medchal Malkajgiri 101 and other districts, a state government bulletin said on Saturday, providing data as of 8 pm on October 16.

The cumulative recovered cases stood at 1.96 lakh while 22,774 were under treatment.

As per the report, 42,497 samples were tested on October 16. Cumulatively, 37.89 lakh samples have been tested. The samples tested per million population was 1.01 lakh.

The case fatality rate in the state was 0.57 per cent, while it was 1.5 per cent at the national level. The recovery rate rose to89.1 per cent, while it was 87.7 per cent in the country.

Meanwhile, with an increase of 62,212 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the coronavirus count in India has crossed 74- lakhs mark

In the past 24 hours, India has 62,212coronavirus cases, taking its total count 74,32,681.

Meanwhile, 837patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 11,12,998. 

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 7,95,087 . Meanwhile 65,24,596 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
