Telangana records 1,718 new COVID-19 cases; Death toll at 1,153

Telangana reported 1,718 new cases along with eleven new fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s total caseload to over 1.97 lakh cases.

 

The toll rose to 1,718 with 8 more fatalities, a state government bulletin said on Saturday, providing data as of 8 PM on October 2.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 285, followed by Rangareddy 129 and Medchal Malkajgiri 115 districts.

The cumulative recovered cases stood at 1.67 lakh, while 28,328 are under treatment. As many as 49,084 samples were tested on October 2.

Cumulatively, 31.53 lakh samples have been tested. The samples tested per million population was 84,729. The case fatality rate in the state was 0.58 per cent, while it was 1.6 per cent at the national level.

The recovery rate in Telangana was 85.05 per cent, while it was 83.8 per cent in the country.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the number of active cases was 944,996 and the country’s death toll mounted to 100,842. 

With an increase of 79,476 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the coronavirus count in India has reached 64,73,545.

Meanwhile, 1,069 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 100,842.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 9,44,996. Meanwhile 54,27,707 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
