Telangana records 2,072 new COVID-19 cases; Death toll at 1,116

Telangana reported 2,072 new cases along with nine new fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s total caseload to over 1.89 lakh cases.


Telangana reported 2,072 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the tally of positive infections to 1,89,283, while the death toll rose to 1,116 with nine more fatalities.

As on Monday, the total active Covid-19 cases in Telangana are 29,477. As many as 2,259 persons recovered by Monday, taking the cumulative Covid-19 recoveries in the State to 1,58,690 with a recovery rate of 83.83 percent, while the countrywide recovery rate is 82.88 percent.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded 283 fresh cases, followed by Rangareddy 161, Medchal Malkajgiri 160, Nalgonda 139, Karimnagar 109 and other districts.

The bulletin said 54,308 samples were tested on September 28. Cumulatively, the number of samples tested was 29.40 lakh. The samples tested per million population was 79,206.

Meanwhile, with an increase of 70,589 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the coronavirus count in India has crossed 61.45 lakhs mark.

In the past 24 hours, India has recorded 70,589 coronavirus cases, taking its total count to 61,45,292. Meanwhile 776 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 96,318.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 9,47,576. Meanwhile 51,01,398 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
