Telangana records 2,154 new COVID-19 cases; Death toll at 1,189

 A total of 2,239 persons have recovered on Tuesday, taking the cumulative Covid-19 recoveries in the State to 1,77,008 with a recovery rate of 86.45 percent.

 

Telangana registered 2,154 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the tally to 2.04 lakh while eight more deaths pushed the toll to 1,189.

With 2,154 fresh coronavirus cases, the total cases in the state has reached 2,04,748. As on Tuesday, there were 26, 551 active Covid-19 cases in Telangana.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 303, followed by Rangareddy 205 and Medchal Malkajgiri 187, a government bulletin said on Wednesday.

According to the providing data as of 8 PM on October 6, the cumulative recovered cases stood at 1.77 lakh, while 26,551 are under treatment. As many as 54,277 samples were tested on October 6.

Cumulatively, 33.46 lakh samples have been tested. The samples tested per million population was 89,910. The case fatality rate in the state was 0.58 per cent, while it was 1.5 per cent at the national level.

With an increase of 72,049 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the coronavirus count in India has crossed 67  lakhs mark.

In the past 24 hours, India has 72,049 coronavirus cases, taking its total count to 67,57,132.

Meanwhile, 986 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,04,555.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is  9,07,883. Meanwhile 57,44,694 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
