Telangana records 2,381 new COVID-19 cases; Death toll at 1,080

Telangana reported 2,381  new cases along with 10 new fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s total caseload to over 1.81 lakh cases.


Telangana reported 2,381 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the tally of positive infections to 1,81,627, while the death toll rose to 1,080 with ten more fatalities.

Out of the 2,381 fresh cases, 386 were recorded in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), followed by Rangareddy 227, Medchal Malkajgiri 193, Nalgonda 132, Karimngar 119 and other districts.

The cumulative recovered cases stood at 1.50 lakh, while 30,387 were under treatment.

According to the bulletin, the recovery rate in the state rose further to 82.67 per cent, while it was 81.71 per cent in the country, it said.

The case fatality rate in the state was 0.59 per cent, while it was 1.58 per cent at the national level.

As many as  57,621 samples were tested on September 24. Cumulatively, the number of samples tested was 27.41 lakh. The samples tested per million population was 73,851.

Meanwhile, with an increase of 86,052 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the coronavirus count in India has crossed 58- lakhs mark.

In the past 24 hours, India has recorded 86,052 coronavirus cases, taking its total count to 58,18,571.
Meanwhile 1,141patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count 92,290.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 9,70,116. Meanwhile 47,56,165 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
