Telangana records 491 news Covid-19 cases, tally at 278599

Telangana registered 491 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the total caseload to over 2.78 lakh while three fatalities pushed the toll to 1,499.


As per the state health department, the total count of coronavirus cases in the state has increased to 2,78,599 including 2,69,828 discharges and 1,499 deaths. The active cases currently stand at 7,272.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 102, followed by Rangareddy 35 and Medchal Malkajgiri 33, a government bulletin said on Tuesday providing details as of 8 pm on December 14.

As many as7,272 patients are under treatment and48,005 samples were tested on Monday. Cumulatively, over 62.05 lakh samples have been tested.

As per the bulletin,  the samples tested per million population was over 1.66 lakh. The case fatality rate in the state was 0.53 per cent, while it was 1.5 per cent at the national level.

The recovery rate in Telangana was 96.85 per cent, while it was 95.1 per cent in the country.

Meanwhile, With 22,065 new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, India's total coronavirus cases crossed 99-lakh mark.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Tuesday said that India's total coronavirus cases surged to  99,06,165.

Meanwhile, 35 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to  1,43,709.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 3,39,820. Meanwhile at 94,22,636 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
