Telangana records 536 news Covid-19 cases, tally at 2,79,135

Telangana registered 536 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the total caseload to over 2.79 lakh while three fatalities pushed the toll to 1,502.


Telangana reported 536 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, as per the state health department.

The State Health Department said the total count of coronavirus cases in the state has increased to 2,79,135 out of which 536 cases were reported in the last 24 hours. The active cases of the deadly virus currently stand at 7,183.

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 107, followed by Medchal Malkajgiri 43 and Rangareddy 41, a government bulletin said on Tuesday providing details as of 8 pm on December 15.

The total discharged cases of COVID-19 are 2,70,450 including 622 new discharged cases.

The state reported three deaths on Tuesday, taking the total deaths in the state due to COVID-19 to 1,502.

The case fatality rate in the state was 0.53 per cent, while it was 1.5 per cent at the national level.

Meanwhile, with 26,382 new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, India's total coronavirus cases crossed 99.32-lakh mark.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) on Wednesday said that India's total coronavirus cases surged to 99,32,548.

Meanwhile, 387 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,44,096.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 3,32,002. Meanwhile at 94,56,449 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
