Telangana records 627 new COVID-19 cases, 4 deaths

A total of 627 new COVID-19 cases, 721 discharges, and four death were reported in Telangana on December 18, the State Health Department said on Saturday.


Telangana registered 627 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the tally to over 2.80 lakh while four related fatalities pushed the toll to 1,510.

The coronavirus count cases in the state has increased to 2,80,822 including 2,72,370 discharges. 

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 123, followed by Rangareddy 52 and Medchal Malkajgiri 48, a government bulletin said on Saturday providing details as of 8 pm on December 18.

The active cases in the state currently stand at 6,942. Besides, 1,510 deaths have been reported in Telangana till Friday.

The case fatality rate in the state is 0.53 per cent while the recovery rate is 96.99 per cent.

Meanwhile, with 25,153 new COVID-19 infections reported in the last 24 hours, COVID-19 case tally crossed the 1-crore mark, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said that India's total coronavirus cases surged to 10,004,599.

Meanwhile, 347 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 1,45,136.

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country 3,08,751. Meanwhile at 95,50,712 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
