Telangana reports 2,043 fresh COVID-19 cases; Death toll at 1,016

Telangana reported 2,043 new cases along with 11 new fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s total caseload to over 1.67 lakh cases.


Telangana reported 2,043 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 1,67,046 while nine more deaths pushed the toll to 1,016.

According to the government bulletin, providing data as of 8 PM on September 17, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) accounted for the most number of cases with 314, followed by Rangareddy 174 and Medchal Malkajgiri 144.

The recovery rate also slightly improved to 81.02 per cent with 1802 more people recovering yesterday. The number of  people who recovered   so far in the state has risen to 1 lakh 35 thousand 357 (1,35,357).

As many as 50,634 samples were tested on September 17. Cumulatively, 23.79 lakh have been tested.

The coronavirus case fatality rate in the state was 0.60 per cent, while it was 1.61 per cent at the national level.

Meanwhile, with an increase of 96,424 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the coronavirus count in India has crossed 52 lakhs mark.
In the past 24 hours, India has recorded 96,424 coronavirus cases, taking its total count to  52,14,678.

Meanwhile 1,174 patients succumbed to the deadly contagious disease, taking the fatalities count to 84,372. 

According to the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of active cases in the country is 10,17,754. Meanwhile 41,12,552 persons have been cured/discharged/migrated.
